Lead Designer

09/2019 – 05/2020

Our team worked with the Markham Arts Council to build an art piece for an outdoor public space in Unionville, Markham. This art piece was also required to serve an environmental purpose.

We created a trash compactor with embedded near field communication (NFC) technology to transform our static art piece into an interactive and ever changing one. The NFC element also allowed us to precisely control and drive the narrative of the art piece in a comprehensive manner.

Although we weren't able to finish the project like we had hoped for due to the corona virus, we were still able to bring it to a conclusion with which every party involved felt satisfied.

This project equipped me with enough confidence in project management and client negotiation that I was able to take on other, more ambitious, projects.
